Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has announced that BioShock 2 developer 2K Marin will take over future installments of the series following the dissolution of BioShock Infinite developer Irrational Games earlier this year. Speaking earlier this week at a Cowen and Company analyst conference, Zelnick called the series a staple of 2K's on-going game lineup, saying that 2K Marin would take over the reins from where Ken Levine's studio left off.

"We haven't given any color on how you should think about it yet except we do believe it's beloved; we think it's important [and] certainly something that we're focused on; something 2K Marin will be responsible for shepherding going forward," he said. "And the question for the future, assuming we decide to answer the question, would be 'How do you stay true to that creatively?'"

While Zelnick did not explicitly confirm plans for a new BioShock, it would be shortsighted to think that the rather profitable series is done. (The CEO also addressed – but not confirm in any concrete way – that Red Dead Redemption would probably be getting a sequel soon during the same conference.) Read the full report via the link below.
