If there's one place where a physical book has symbolic meaning, it's in our courts or in the swearing in of our elected officials. Until now, that is.

Yesterday, while you were getting hyped about Apple's iOS 8 announcement, Suzi Levine was sworn in as the American ambassador to Switzerland, not on a physical representation of the U.S. Constitution, but on an Amazon Kindle version. She's the first ambassador to do so. As the Washington Post points out, it was only in February that a group of New Jersey firefighters were sworn in on an iPad version of the Bible when they couldn't find a physical one. The tablet revolution is upon us, and in a few years time—give it another decade—we may see a progressive president sworn in on a tablet.
