Last night, during the jaw-dropping season two finale of Arrow, the CW released a teaser trailer for The Flash that saw the titular hero (played by Grant Gustin) training with Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell), the Arrow himself.

Today, the network has released a heart-pounding five-minute trailer, complete with looks at Barry Allen's companions, S.T.A.R. Labs allies, and archenemies. These include Iris West (Candice Patton), Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker), Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh), and Eddie Thawne, best known in the comics as the evil Professor Zoom (Rick Cosnett).

Taking a lighter approach than Arrow, The Flash will follow a bumbling Barry Allen as he gets used to his new, lightning-quick abilities and gets himself fitted for a super suit.

The series, which is expected to premiere this October, is slated for Tuesday nights at 8 p.m., right before Supernatural.

Fall cannot come fast enough. So to speak.
