Josh Brolin Joins the Marvel Universe

Josh Brolin will be playing Thanos in "Guardians of the Galaxy," and possibly "The Avengers 3."

Remember that creepy looking guy from the end credits of The Avengers? Well, it appears we may get to see him in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy movie, and he will be voiced by a familiar name: Josh Brolin.

The character himself is named Thanos, and (shocker!) he really has it out for planet earth. Apparently, he is looking to use a weapon known as the “Infinity Gauntlet” to totally wipe us out because hey, why not?

That same character would also be part of a tie-in with The Avengers, likely making his first appearance in the already green-lit Avengers 3.

Brolin would join other high profile villains played by Tom Hiddleston and James Spader, who are both also looking to kill the Avengers and ideally rule/destroy the world. While Brolin himself has not confirmed yet, we think it would be a solid choice; after all, this is the same guy who played George W. Bush in a movie, so he already knows how to play a powerful leader!
