Actor Johnny Depp was served legal papers at the "Transcendence" premiere on Thursday in Hollywood to testify in a murder case.

Back in 2009, Nancy Lekon was driving a limo in downtown LA and allegedly hit a pedestrian. She then continued to drive while the pedestrian was being dragged under the wheels of the vehicle for a mile before she died.

Lekon told officers that at the time of the incident, Lekon and Depp were in a relationship and she was in the downtown area to meet up with him.

TMZ reports, "Lekon has been charged with murder and will stand trial later this month.  She pled not guilty by reason of insanity."

The alleged murderer's public defender wants to bring in Depp to prove that Lekon was mentally unstable during the incident.
