No genre in Hollywood has been more plagued by the reboot/remake trend over the years than horror movies. There has been a constant stream of Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, and Texas Chainsaw Massacre retreads recently, and the trend doesn't seem to be stopping. Now Deadline is reporting that Hollywood is reheating another fan-favorite franchise as Sam Raimi is set to produce a new version of The Grudge for Ghost House Pictures.

America’s original Grudge from 2004 was actually a remake of the Japanese horror movie Ju-On: The Grudge. That Americanized version ended in 2009 with The Grudge 3, but the studio is wasting no time returning to the franchise. The one positive for fans to take away is that Raimi also produced the first American version of The Grudge, which is still seen as the best in the series.

Do you think The Grudge should get another reboot so close to the original series ending? Or do you think Hollywood should let this one rest for a few years? Let us know.
