If you thought all interns were unpaid lackeys fetching coffee and photocopying documents, think again. Glassdoor compiled data about the 25 companies that offer the highest-paying internships and found that tech giants like Twitter, Facebook, and Google compensate their young employees handsomely. Interns at these companies make significantly more than the national wage average.

The firms with the top five highest-paid interns are software company Palantir ($7,012 per month), VMware ($6,966), Twitter ($6,791), LinkedIn ($6,230), and Facebook ($6,213), with other tech companies-Microsoft, Google, eBay, and Apple-not far behind on the list. Even those slumming it at Intel are bringing in $4,648 per month.
