It's taken awhile but Japanese game developer Square Enix has finally come out to admit something it hasn’t admitted to itself until now. Japanese role-playing games, or JRPGs, are popular all over the world, not just in Japan. As proven recently from the reissue of Bravely Default which sold tons of copies and garnished itself some critical acclaim.

"Due to having split [the development mindset] according to regions around the world, we weren't able to see this clearly up until now, but fans of JRPGs are really spread around the world," Square Enix boss Yosuke Matsuda told Nikkei (as translated by Siliconera).

"For the new games we'll be developing from this point on," Matsuda said, "we've been talking about making them as heavy JRPGs. I believe that way, we can better focus on our target, which will also bring better results."

That's correct gamers, Enix is going to get heavy JRPG all over the world. I'm the first to admit, it took me a long time to gravitate toward the JRPG world. Full of cheese and weird storylines it took some time to break in, but with gameplay so good, it's easy to get caught up in these worlds.
