According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ellen Page (Juno) has come out as gay. Page made the announcement during a speech at Time to THRIVE, a conference for LGBT youth at Bally's Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. The site is reporting that during the speech, Page said:

I am tired of hiding and I am tired of lying by omission. I suffered for years because I was scared to be out. My spirit suffered, my mental health suffered and my relationships suffered. And I’m standing here today, with all of you, on the other side of all that pain.

Page, 26, also added that she has had difficulties dealing with gender stereotypes while reading tabloid articles mocking the way that she dressed in the past.

"You have ideas planted in your head, thoughts you never had before, that tell you how you have to act, how you have to dress and who you have to be. I have been trying to push back, to be authentic, to follow my heart, but it can be hard," she told the crowd.

Page is set to play a gay woman alongside Julianne Moore in a movie titled Freeheld in the near future. In the film, Page and Moore play a couple whose pension benefits are frozen after one becomes terminally ill. Here is a tweet regarding Page from the Human Rights Campaign:

Congratulations, @EllenPage for taking the steps to live openly and come out as lesbian. #comingout #timetoTHRIVE http://t.co/PneoSUunRk
