It seems Snapchat can't go a month without some type of privacy controversy.

New website SnapchatDB! claims to have posted SQL/CSV files that contain the username and phone number of 4.6 million Snapchat users. As of now, they're blurring out the last two digits of the phone numbers, but say they will release the unobscured numbers "under certain circumstances." So, if you have a number that you need to keep under wraps, this is something you should be weary of if you use Snapchat. Reports are that people are having difficulty downloading the files, possibly because the site is experience an overload of traffic. Their website states, "You can use this information to find phone number information associated with Facebook and Twitter accounts, or simply to figure out the phone numbers of people you wish to get in touch with."

SnapchatDB! cites an exploit that was made public recently that reported it was possible to do this exact kind of leak. Snapchat refuted the possibility, saying they had worked all year to patch it up.

"The company was too reluctant at patching the exploit until they knew it was too late and companies that we trust with our information should be more careful when dealing with it."
