Developer Messhof has announced the release of its neon sword fighting game Nidhogg, set to drop on January 13 for PC on Steam.

Check out the announcement trailer above for a game that's already won some serious clout. Winning the Indiecade 2013 Game Design Award among others. The battles are fast paced fencing matches with sometimes gooey results. Environments range from castes, mines, clouds and a wilds level.

Nidhogg was featured earlier this year at the EVO fighting game championships where players got a chance to try out its combat style. The game features moves such as a dive kick, crawl, wall jump as well as a execution that rolls under an opponent and snaps their neck, sick.

Watch out for Nidhogg on January 13 when it drops on Steam. For more info scope developer Messhof's website.
