The more pilot orders NBC reveals, the more it seems like women are running the Peacock these days. In addition to shows ordered from Casey Wilson and Rashida Jones, today the network announced new pilots from both Katherine Heigl and Amy Poehler.

Heigl will star in State of Affairs, a drama from Smokin Aces writer/director Joe Carnahan that finds the former Grey's Anatomy star as a CIA attache who balances her messy personal life with advising the president on "high stakes incidents around the world." Given that Heigl's former forays into similar territory were Killers and One for the Money, our expectations for this one are low.

More promising is the Amy Poehler-produced comedy that will star the great Natasha Lyonne as a senior citizen aide trying to find herself, a premise which, given the talent attached, is ripe with potential.
