"The person, be it gentleman or lady, who has not pleasure in a good novel, must be intolerably stupid." - Jane Austen

How do you do sophisticates and socialites? I come baring sunny news of a new Jane Austen themed massively multiplayer online game in development at 3 Turns Productions. The developer - most graciously so - seeks to Kickstarer fund its gossipy little game that takes us through the world of Jane Austen's many novels.

Ever, Jane puts players in role of some of Austen's most loved characters where they will build their own stories, gossip against each other and go to dinner parties and balls. Never fear, there's more! Players can also indulge in sewing, ballroom dancing, fishing and puzzles. For those heathens our there who haven’t enjoyed a good bit of socialite debutant gossip and the absolutely filthy sex-scenes of shoulder brushing, Jane Austen’s world of Victorian love life seem like odd material for gaming. I mean, has anyone read a Hemingway novel? Getting drunk, fishing and fighting bulls - yes please. Yet alas, Ever, Jane it is. Stretch goals included riveting past times such as drawing, farming and hiring a producer to push this illegitimate bastard out.

Gamers who want to pounce into the virtual gossipy dating pool (oh my!) can download a prototype version of the game here. Ever, Jane has currently raised over $26,000 from nice grandmothers and your coworker who goes to renaissance fairs, check out the Kickstarter page here.

[UPDATE] In the time it took to write this story, Ever, Jane made $2,000. Appartenly the people have spoken!
