Windows Phone users have been without an official Instagram app since it was launched, but today is finally their day. Sort of.

Instagram is releasing an app for Windows Phone users today, but it comes without two very big features that every other iteration of the app for other devices currently have. While the app comes with the filters that we all know and love, Windows Phone users won't be able to take photos through the app's camera, or upload videos. Seriously. Even though Instagram made a huge fuss a few months back about launching 15-second video, they didn't include it in the Windows Phone version. Users can still upload photos that they have already taken on their phone, but they can't use the app to take those photos. Yet, the company says they're still tweaking the app, so not all hope is lost. "We're not finished, and our team will continue developing the Windows Phone app to keep releasing features and bringing you the best Instagram possible," an Instagram spokesperson said. So, instead of a camera popping up on screen when a user wants to take a photo through the app, they will be taken to the phone's camera roll. Way to go, Instagram. That's not it, though: users won't be able to tag people in photos or view maps from geotagged pictures.

Windows Phone users can still use unofficial workaround apps for their Instagram needs, but this official version seems incomplete to even have released yet.
