Got a hardcore session of Battlefield 4planned for breakfast? Might want to reschedule. Electronic Arts' (EA) servers are all down.

"Our systems that handle online gameplay, matchmaking, and login are offline for all of our titles.

“This means that you may unable to play online or may get dropped from multiplayer matches, and will not be able to login to EA sites.”

Not only will this make it impossible to play any online games but also won’t let users sign in. So if you wanted to round out a bagel and coffee with some campaign mode in Battlefield4 you’re out of luck.

EA says it’s aware of the issue and has got all hands on deck trying to fix the problem. Could this be a glimpse in the always-on future of next-gen games that require sign-in before playing any parts of the title? Hope not.
