Another one of Corey Booker's wishes is coming true. Whole Foods has reportedly signed a lease to open a 29,000-square-foot location in the building formerly housed by Hahne & Co. in Newark, N.J. Booker, who gave co-CEO Walter Robb and a regional president a tour last year, had been trying to bring a Whole Foods to Neward since 2007.

This is the fruit of a joint venture between New York's L&M Development Partners and Newark's Hanini Group. In addition to the Whole Foods, the building will also have 127 studio, one and two-bedroom apartments on the upper levels. It's primary level will consist of 83,000-square-feet of retail space.

According to the Star-Ledger, this marks the second major grocery store chain to come to Newark this year. Back in May, ShopRite announced plans to build a 67,000-square-foot store with construction slated to begin by the end of this year.
