Worst News Ever: NBC Has Placed "Parks & Recreation" on Hiatus Until Next Month

This is not how we envisioned spending our Monday afternoon.

This is, perhaps, the worst news to hear on a Monday: According to Uproxx, NBC has officially placed Parks & Recreation on an unplanned hiatus that bumps the next three episodes to next month—including the Halloween episode, which was planned to actually air on Halloween.

Instead of Leslie Knope, the network will reportedly air two episodes of The Voice and a Saturday Night Live Halloween episode in its timeslot, an effort that is, as Vulture theorizes, to shift audiences' focus to Sean Saves the World in the 9 p.m. slot:

None

This doesn't mean that Parks is doomed though—as Vulture continues, "The failure, so farof NBC's new comedies means that the Peacock has not yet proven it can do better than Parks on Thursdays. That doesn't mean NBC still won't decide to move onbut for now, its comedy choices are pretty limited."

Still, this is a terrible decision. A three-week Parks hiatus means that the next episode—the second one featuring Orphan Black star Tatiana Maslany going on a date with Aziz Ansari's Tom—won't air until next month, leaving us all in excruciating suspense. And that Halloween episode? We're sure it'll be just as genius during Thanksgiving.

Ugh. This is the worst day ever.
