Remember that time Julian Assangewrote his portrayer, Benedict Cumberbatch, and declared The FIfth Estate a "wretched film?" We bet he's having a good laugh now that the film's debut weekend numbers are in. With an unbelievably dismal haul of just $1.7 million—the budget was $26 mil—Estate is officially the worst box office debut of 2013. Yes, behind all of the other disposable D-thrillers and actioners that have been forced on us this year. Throw in the mixed reviews, and you have a pretty big bump in Cumberbatch's road to stardom. Maybe it'll become a cult hit when it's released for home viewing?
