We're trying to avoid the more obvious, low hanging punchlines here. This is actually just kind of fucked up.

A British gamer had finally gotten his hands on one of the very first copies of Grand Theft Auto V in the UK before being assaulted. The 28 year old was hit with a brick, stabbed, and robbed of his copy of Rockstar's newest joint.

The assault took place only 80 minutes after the title hit the streets across the pond.

"The victim had been shopping and was on his way home when he was hit with a brick. He was then stabbed and robbed," a Metropolitan Police spokesman told AFP.

"A copy of Grand Theft Auto V, a watch and a mobile phone were stolen."

The gamer was listed as being in stable condition by authorities and no arrests have been made. The attacker is considered to still be at large. Seriously, there's nothing even remotely funny about this.
