During his younger days, legendary director Stanley Kubrick was a photographer for Look magazine. The Museum of the City of New York has released Life and Love on the New York City Subway, which show the New York City subway back in 1946. The images are a look at a different New York City—one where they still had gum machines and people passed out on the platforms like it was nothing (see the last image). Come to think of it, the latter still happens nearly 70 years later.
