Yelp announced today that it's launching a new food delivery and pick-up service, Yelp Platform, in select cities, with more plans on the horizon.

Yelp Platform will let users order food for delivery or pick-up, either directly from the Yelp app or website. It's currently rolling out for a few restaurants in San Francisco and New York City, but as more restaurants participate in the service, more cities will be added to the list. In coming months, the company plans to act as a secretary of sorts, by allowing users to schedule appointments with spas, hair salons and dental offices. The service is available today through the Yelp website or the iOS app, with Android implementation coming soon.

This places Yelp in direct competition with the well established GrubHub, which caters to more than 20,000 restaurants in the U.S. Will you be willing to give Yelp Platform a try?
