Today eBay debuted a new eBay Now version for desktops. The update  provides shoppers an easy way to shop and make purchases that can be delivered in about an hour for only $5 per order. Currently, the same day local delivery is available in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, San Jose, San Francisco and Peninsula. Dan Glasgow, eBay’s VP of Mobile and Local, stated that the service will launch in Chicago and Dallas “later this summer.”

Added features include bigger and more images of products, customer reviews, detailed product descriptions and featured stores that work in collaboration with the e-commerce site. They also make returns simple for online shoppers. Instead of waiting in line at the post office, Shopping Valets will go to your home to pick up the item you want to return and a refund will be issued within 48 hours.

At first glance the site is definitely appealing. It looks clean and user friendly. Shoppers can order items from hundreds of stores including Home Depot, Macy’s, Radio Shack, Target and Urban Outfitters, and purchase items via eBay Now's app, which is available on iOS and Android devices.
