When Boston Marathon bombing suspect  Dzhokhar Tsarnaev appears in court today, he will be joined by survivors of the attack that killed three people and injured 260.

In a few hours, Tsarnaev will be transported from a prison in Fort Devens, Mass. to Boston's federal courthouse to face 30 charges, the most devastating of which is for the use weapons of mass destruction, which could be punished by the death penalty.

Tsarnaev was indicted last month for the deadly blasts and for the shooting death of MIT police officer Sean Collier. The arraignment is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m., and we will update later with more information.

UPDATE: During his arraignment, Tsarnaev pleaded not guilty to 30 counts, 17 of which carry the death penalty. Prosecutors say the trial could last up to four months, and Jim Armstrong of CBS Boston said the government plans to call "up to 100 witnesses." Tsarnaev will return to court on Sep. 23,
