Watch This Epic 13-Minute "Man Of Steel" Featurette

This should wash the taste of Superman Returns out of your mouth.

The premiere of Man of Steel is less than two short weeks away, and in order to drum up the excitement for Superman’s silver screen return, Warner Brothers has released a new 13-minute featurette for the film, courtesy of Super Hero Hype. Here we see the producers, stars and crew talk about what it took to get the idea for Man of Steel off the ground, but, more importantly, we also get some new shots of Superman (Henry Cavill) in action.

From dizzying space battles to a fist fight with General Zod (Michael Shannon), it looks like director Zack Snyder (Watchmen) and writer David Goyer (The Dark Knight) have cracked the code of how to update this 75 year old character for a more modern audience. Unlike Bryan Singer's ill-fated Superman Returns, Snyder looked at the comic books themselves for inspiration for the movie. You can’t see this featurette and not get vibes from Mark Waid’s Birthright or Grant Morrison’s All-Star Superman stories. And trust us, that’s a good thing.

This featurette might have too many spoilers for those looking to see the movie with a fresh set of eyes, but if you are on the fence about embracing the last son of Krypton, this should sell you on Snyder’s vision.

Man of Steel opens on June 14.
