In their Direct Video presentation this morning, Nintendo announced an exciting new line-up for their Wii U. Unfortunately we'll have to wait until next year to play most of them.

While Super Mario 3D World, Sonic: Lost World the HD update to The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker will drop this year the real meat of the presentation leaves owners sitting on their hands. Wii U's most exciting titles like the new HD Mario Kart and Smash Bros won't be released until spring of 2014 while the promising new open-world adventure, Xenoblade Chronicle, dubbed won't be available until possibly later in 2014.

Nintendo did announce that they will be releasing tons of ports for the Wii U such as the new Splinter Cell and Batman titles. Ports are great but we really want our Smash Bros.
