Further cementing his status as one of the busiest dudes in Hollywood, Variety is reporting that J.J. Abrams and his production company, Bad Robot, have made a deal to develop a previously unproduced screenplay from The Twilight Zone creator Rod Serling.
The project is reportedly Serling's last completed work before his death in June 1975. It's titled The Stops Along the Way, and was originally envisioned by Serling to be a miniseries. Serling's widow, Carol Serling—who secured the deal with Bad Robot—wouldn't reveal much of what the script entails, other than that it involves "a little bit of fantasy, a little bit of imagination" and it "takes place over a long period of time."
The project will reportedly be shopped around to networks as a "limited series." Abrams has commented before that Serling's series, The Twilight Zone, had a huge influence on his career.
