After a long, harrowing wait, it's finally here—the first trailer for Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. And, if you were at all worried about quality dropping between 2005's first Anchorman film and this sequel, we can thankfully report this very promising news: Based off of the trailer, Ron Burgundy and the Action News team are back in full force.

In this first trailer, we see Burgundy (Will Ferrell) and the rest of the gang—Brick (Steve Carrell), Brian (Paul Rudd), and Champ (David Koechner)—in NYC during the '80s, where they're approached to join the first 24-hour news channel. Sadly, there was no sign of Kanye West or Drakeanywhere—yet.

Amongst the major things that happen: Ron Burgundy has a revelation ("I'm going to do the thing that God put Ron Burgundy on this earth to do: Have salon-quality hair and read the news!"); Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate) makes an appearance; and Brick finds love with Kristen Wiig. It's all so amazing, we might cry from happiness.

On another note—thanks to EW, we also now have our first poster for the film as well. It's not much, but it's still perfect and, yes, kind of a big deal:

Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues is set to hit theaters this Christmas.
