Party Like it's 1998 at Penn Social in D.C. Tomorrow Night (6/20)

The '90s party you won't get tired of.

None

Though it wasn't as monumental as 1994 or 1996, 1998 was a pretty damn good year for hip-hop. Gang Starr dropped Moment of Truth, Mos Def and Talib Kweli released Mos Def & Talib Kweli Are Black Star, DMX dropped It's Dark and Hell Is Hot and Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood, Outkast dropped Aquemini and Jay-Z became a star with the release of Vol.2...Hard Knock Life.

Tomorrow night, D.C.'s massive overload of fun Penn Social (801 E St. NW) will host "1998," a celebration of  all genres of music from the decade. We know what you're thinking—another '90s party, but it's one where you'll hear everything from Nirvana to Memphis Bleek. The essence of what made the '90s such a memorable decade will be captured, not just force-fed to you.

The free party will last from 10 p.m. until 2 a.m. and music will be handled by DJ Alizay. Come remember the decade you reached puberty, the decade you graduated from high school or learn more about the decade in which were born.
