Major Nelson speaks out.

The topic of being able to play used video games on the Xbox One is no doubt a hot one and speculation has hit a fever pitch. On his blog, Director of Programming for Xbox Live, Larry "Major Nelson" Hyrb released an official statement regarding the rumors and complaints about the Xbox One's alleged lack of used game compatibility.

"The ability to trade in and resell games is important to gamers and to Xbox. Xbox One is designed to support the trade in and resale of games. Reports about our policies for trade in and resale are inaccurate and incomplete. We will disclose more information in the near future."

This has got to be a huge relief for retailers like GameStop, Best Buy and smaller shops who offer used video games to their customers. Perhaps, we'll see an additional device for playing used video games or maybe a digital method that will allow gameplay while securing publisher's copyrights.

We'll be sure to report as more information becomes available.
