If you were hoping for Terrence Malick's next film, Knight of Cups, to be a little less artsy than The Tree of Life was, sorry to say you probably shouldn't hold your breath - judging from this new still, posted by The Hollywood Reporter, the Christian Bale- Natalie Portman-starrer will be just as weird nature documentary/'90s Calvin Klein ad as all of Malick's newer films. At least it looks pretty! Who needs an easily digestible plot, right?
So, what is the plot of the film anyway? Apparently, it's being heavily guarded, but it's said to be about "celebrities and excess." Cate Blanchett also stars.
OK, seriously though, we have to ask: Who walks on the beach in stockings? Damnit, Portman!
