On Wednesday, Google unveiled the new design for Gmail, which can quickly sort though messages and label them based on how important and urgent they are.

The remodeled system works by automatically categorizing incoming emails into three tabs: primary (most important), social (updates from social networks) and promotions (newsletters and miscellaneous news). In addition, users can choose to add extra tabs to manage other kinds of information such as banking statements and bills.

The improved Gmail on devices sport large tabs, allowing users to easily customize and drag-and-drop messages among emails. The bonus: Google will learn your filtering preference.

Google said the iOS app will be available once Apple approves it, while the one for Android is expected soon. Web users can get a sneak peek of the fresh look by choosing "default" in the settings menu.
