See the First Teaser Poster For Spike Lee's "Oldboy" Remake

The film won't be released until October.

Spike Lee's next movie Oldboy - a remake of the South Korean film of the same name - isn't set to be released until later this year, but, luckily, it looks like promotional material for the project is finally starting to be released. First up: A huge, yet simple teaser poster, featuring an etching of mysterious numbers that is meant to represent the amount of years that the protagonist of the film was held imprisoned in solitary confinement for. It doesn't do much to reveal a lot in way of plot, but it manages to intrigue nonetheless.

The South Korean version of the film that Lee's is based on was released in 2003, and directed by Park Chan-Wook. That film in itself was based on a popular Japanese manga also of the same name, which ran between 1996 and 1998.

Lee's project stars Josh Brolin, Elizabeth Olsen, Sharlto Copley, and Samuel L. Jackson. It's set to hit theaters on October 11th, 2013. You can check out the poster below. Fingers crossed we'll get a real trailer soon?
