The cast of The Mindy Project took the stage at PaleyFest last night, and Mindy Kaling answered questions about the recently renewed show, her book, and the end of The Office.

She said that she will be working on another book during The Mindy Project's hiatus. Her debut, Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns), was a big hit following Tina Fey's book, Bossypants. The as-yet-untitled second book will look at "the high highs and low lows of the past 18 months" and will probably come out in 2014.

Kaling also confirmed that she will return for the final episode of The Office as ditzy customer service rep Kelly Kapoor. "It’s really exciting. I’ve just read the pages, and it’s a really amazing episode of television.” Kaling wrote many classic episodes of The Office before moving on to her own show—"The Injury," where Michael (Steve Carell) burns his foot on a Foreman Grill, or "Frame Toby," where Michael tries to buy weed and gets a Caprese salad instead.

She hasn't starting writing season 2 of The Mindy Project yet, but she'd like to cast Danny McBride as "a giant, foul-mouthed, disgusting gay man." Kaling said in her own life she's thinking about "having kids and getting married and stuff. I’d like to see that reflected in the show."

The video of the panel should be up on Hulu sometime today.
