With all the talk about sequels to Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America, as well as the debut of movies like Guardians of the Galaxy and Ant-Man, Marvel seems to be on its way to producing a number of hit properties to fill theaters for the next five years. But one character that seems to always get left behind is the Hulk. He was undoubtedly the star of The Avengers, but for some reason the Green Goliath doesn’t get much love when it comes to his solo movies.

But that might be about to change, because according to a new rumor from Latino Review, Bruce Banner will be an integral part of the Marvel Universe over the next few years. However, before you read on, we have to warn you that there are potential spoilers ahead

A source close to production apparently told the site that The Avengers 2 will end with Hulk being blasted into outer space by the movie version of The Illuminati, which in the comics was comprised of Iron Man, Namor, Professor X, Black Bolt, Dr. Strange, and the Black Panther. This is the same plot as the blockbuster comic book storyline Planet Hulk, which was written by Greg Pak. In the story, Hulk lands on an alien planet and is forced into endless gladiatorial games on his way to liberating the planet’s people from a cruel emperor. This will all unfold during a solo Hulk movie that adapts the comic.

The site then says that Avengers 3 will deal with Hulk coming back to Earth to take revenge on Iron Man and the others, in a story that is based on World War Hulk, which was the comic sequel to Planet Hulk. Obviously we don’t know if any of this is true, but it’s intriguing, to say the least.
