As Dead Space 3 was released last week to mixed reviews, we gave it a modest 7/10, people playing the game have discovered somewhat of a glitch in the third installment of the action/horror title.

The discovery of the glitch, where players can farm resources from infinitely re-spawning enemies, comes on the heels of heavy criticism leveled towards EA for including micro-transactions in the new title. The 'free-to-play, pay-to-win' model has left many feeling shafted after already dropping $60 on the new release. Paying full retail and then being nickled and dimed to upgrade your gear smacks of seven shades of tom-fuckery. EA responded to the glitch, saying that the inclusion was completely intentional.

“The resource-earning mechanic in Dead Space 3 is not a glitch,” said EA representative Jino Talens. “We have no plans to issue a patch to change this aspect of the game. We encourage players to explore the game and discover the areas where resources respawn for free."

“We’ve deliberately designed Dead Space 3 to allow players to harvest resources by playing through the game. For those that wish to accumulate upgrades instantly, we have enabled an optional system for them to buy the resources at a minimal cost ($1-$3)."

So maybe this is EA's response to a vocally livid fan-base. We know that we certainly aren't going to embrace the 'pay to win' model after parting with $60 for the full game.
