Reports are flooding in all over the web that Valve is showing off the fabled Steam Box at CES, but those reports are, quite simply, untrue.
Valve representative Tom Giardito has spent the last couple days setting the record straight, as PC Mag reports. And it turns out the devices that are being incorrectly called the Steam Box are simply small gaming PCs that happen to be running Steam in big picture mode on a television.
In another recent interview, Valve head Gabe Newell confirmed that the Steam Box is indeed on its way, and that it will run Linux. It's just not at CES. So everyone—seriously—relax.
