According to city data, the Upper West Side is the most rodent-infested neighborhood in the city. Residents with 10024 and 10025 ZIP codes have made 1,183 rodent complaints to 311 in the past two years. The runner-up was Bushwick, which had 965 complaints despite being roughly the same size.
Residents of the UWS are furious, claiming that the city's efforts to rid the neighborhood of their unwelcome neighbors are simply not good enough. The pricey neighborhood had nearly twice as many complaints as the Lower East Side and the East Village, which made 688 complaints in the same time period.
Sounds like the rats are getting over.
