Though it won’t hit theaters for over two years, Warner BrothersJustice League adaptation is one of the most highly-anticipated comic book movies to ever be in development. And that’s why this latest rumor from Latino-Review is so interesting. According to the site, the roster for the movie version of the League has been cut down to a core of five members: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, and Green Lantern.

For all intents and purposes, that is the classic Justice League roster that most people are familiar with. Three of the five have had their own solo movies in the past, so introductions won’t be necessary there. And Wonder Woman and Flash are household names at this point, even without a feature film to their credit.

Some might be put off by the team only having five members, but remember, this is the first movie in what the studio hopes to be a franchise. A lot of time will be spent building this world, and having too many heroes would just add unnecessary clutter to the script.

However, the site is also reporting that Aquaman and the Martian Manhunter might have cameo roles during the movie in some capacity. We would definitely keep our eye on Manhunter, in particular, because his ability to shapeshift could make for an easy appearance at some point.

There is no director as of yet, but Justice League is still scheduled for a summer 2015 release.
