Hollywood types often come up with fucking awful ideas that then somehow get made into films (Battleship anyone?) but thankfully Valve head Gabe Newell wasn't having any of that when it came to a Half-Life movie.

During an interview with Chris Hardwick of The Nerdist, Newell described some of the awful ideas that movie-makers have approached him with over the years, including adding horses to a Half-Life movie:

There really were people who came to us with proposals of: ‘Okay, it's Half-Life 1, and there are horses, and it's a cavalry charge, and it's high-tech carbon armor on the horses,' and we were like, ‘What the fuck are you talking about? Have you even played this?'

The interview with Newell is spread over The Nerdist's two most recent podcasts—listen to them here. What other bad video game movie ideas have you had or heard of?
