According to Variety, Jeremy Strong has been cast as Lee Harvey Oswald in the upcoming historical drama based on the JFK assassination, titled Parkland. Peter Landesman will direct and write the movie, which will focus on the events at Parkland Hospital in Dallas the day Kennedy was killed. The hospital became famous after both Kennedy and Oswald were brought there and pronounced dead after the chaotic events in November 1963.
With the events of the film focusing on the staff of the hospital and the confusion surrounding the assassination, it isn’t known how big Strong’s role will be, despite playing such an important character. The movie will also star Zac Efron, Billy Bob Thornton, and Paul Giamatti. Strong also has a small part in two other prominent historical dramas in theaters now: Lincoln and Zero Dark Thirty.
