'God of War: Ascension' is the Gateway to the 'The Last of Us' Demo

Get 'Ascension' and you can play the new Naughty Dog demo when it's available.

Sony announced today that players who pick up God of War: Ascension will gain access to the demo for The Last of Us, the awesome-looking next game from the creators of Uncharted. The demo won't be available immediately when God of War is released in March, but once it is, Ascension players will be the first to access it.

Here's a great description of The Last of Us from the press release sent out today, complete with some plot details that we weren't previously aware of:

The Last of Us is a genre-defining experience blending survival and action elements to tell a character driven story about a population decimated by a modern plague. 20 years after a pandemic has radically changed known civilization, cities are abandoned and being reclaimed by nature, infected humans run wild and survivors are killing each other for food, weapons; whatever they can get their hands on. Joel, a violent survivor, is hired to smuggle a 14 year-old girl, Ellie, out of an oppressive military quarantine zone, but what starts as a small job soon transforms into a brutal journey across the U.S.

We can't argue with how great that sounds, and it's not like we weren't going to pick up God of War: Ascension anyway. What do you think? Are you down for a little cross-promotion between PS3 games?
