If there were any doubts that Bates Motel would live up to the creepiness of film its based upon, Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho, lo and behold: After watching these new teasers, just released by A&E, it's seems likely that it will.
The short format of the promos is slightly reminiscent of the terrifying and brilliant teasers released by FX to promote American Horror Story: Asylum this past summer, but they're creepy in their own way, of course - the first opens on a seemingly calm night, before panning back to reveal a burning corpse hanging from a tree overhead, while the second goes inside what we can assume to be the Bates Motel, and depicts a pair of twitching hands cuffed to a pipe.
You can check out both teasers below. Bates Motel, which stars Freddie Highmore as a young Norman Bates and Vera Farmiga as his doomed mother, is set to premiere early next year.
