A MacGyver film is apparently in the works over at New Line, and the studio is wasting no time trying to lock down a director for the project. According to Variety, Insiduous and Saw director James Wan has been in talks to helm the film, as the studio was pleased with his work on the upcoming horror film, The Conjuring.

No details about the MacGyver film have really been released yet, other than the fact that Jason Richman drafted the script, and it was recently revised by Brian Gunn and Mark Gunn. How closely it will follow the 1980's television show, which starred Richard Dean Anderson as the most creative crimefighter in history, remains to be seen.
