There's another great event going on at LA's iam8bit gallery starting Nov. 30: the Machinima Interactive Film Festival (fondly referred to as "MIFF," or so we're told).

MIFF will take place both online and offline, where it's running from Nov. 30 to Dec. 8. It's "a massive collaboration between Machinima, iam8bit, and some of the best and brightest filmmakers and animators on YouTube," according to a press release sent out today.

Fans will be able to vote on their favorite bit of MIFF content throughout the week, tweeting with the #MIFF hashtag and simultaneously entering for a chance to win a $5,000 HP workstation or a $600 Adobe Cloud membership.

Here's an excerpt from the press release:

“YouTube has exploded with talent over the last few years and Machinima has been fortunate enough to be right there with it, forging new paths and being a part of the birth of a new interactive media experience,” said Allen DeBevoise, Chairman and CEO of Machinima, Inc. “Our audience is some of the most engaged and influential minds out there, and we’re excited to present them with a whole new way of experiencing and interacting with content.”

The iam8bit gallery is open to the public. Are you an LA local? What do you think of the Machinima Interactive Film Festival?
