Jeff Bezos, the Amazon founder, is Fortune's Businessperson of the Year.
The business monthly cited Bezos for his "penchant for taking risks and disrupting industries," specifically via his aggressive Amazon Web Services and Kindle Fire strategies.
"Bezos has always prioritized long-term gains over short-term profitability, a philosophy that's yielding palpable results," the magazine wrote.
Runner up for the top spot was Apple's Tim Cook.
