Find Out When Joss Whedon's "SHIELD" TV Show Will Begin Filming

It's closer than you think.

None

According to a tweet by Variety’s Marc Graser, Joss Whedon will begin filming ABC’s S.H.I.E.L.D pilot this January. The show will be based on the fictional government agency that was featured prominently in The Avengers. But despite its ties to the movie, we’re still unsure if we’ll ever see Samuel L. Jackson or Cobie Smulders make an appearance during the series.

We also don’t know much about the cast or the plot of the show, other than the fact that Ming-Na and Clark Gregg will both star in it. Gregg, of course, is reprising his role as Agent Phil Coulson from the Marvel movies, even though his character was killed off during Avengers. With a January shoot planned, it’s possible that we’ll see our first episode of the show much sooner than expected, maybe for a late spring preview or a fall 2013 premiere. We’ll have more information on S.H.I.E.L.D as it comes available.
