'Black Ops 2' Can Live Stream Direct from Consoles to Youtube

It's sort of unprecedented.

This, live

Activision announced today that Black Ops 2 is going to have some pretty incredibly functionality—specifically, you'll be able to live stream directly to Youtube from Xbox 360 or PS3, zero fuss involved. No more complicated set-ups or fancy equipment required.

The live streaming feature in Black Ops 2 will be available as soon as the game launches, and Activision said in the press release that it's meant to "elevate gameplay to a sporting event."

You'll be able to live stream League Play games directly from your console, with webcam and audio commentary included in the stream as well. And with Call of Duty Elite, viewers can get more info on any live stream, including class loadouts, recent match data, and other career info.

From the announcement:

"From the beginning of development with Call of Duty: Black Ops II, the team has been pushing boundaries on every front to offer Call of Duty fans things that they haven't been able to do before," said Mark Lamia, studio head of Treyarch. "With our competitive play and eSports initiatives, we wanted to deliver live streaming capabilities built right into Call of Duty: Black Ops II, because Call of Duty is not only fun and exciting to play, but we believe it will be just as exciting to watch. By making the capability of live streaming as accessible as possible to our fans, straight from a player's console without the need for any additional hardware or sophisticated setups, we are empowering our fans to share their multiplayer experiences."
