Sony Pushes "Robocop" Remake Back To 2014

Plus, Elysium gets a new date as well.

None

The trouble continues for Sony’s remake of Robocop as The Hollywood Reporter has broken the news that the studio has pushed the movie back from its original August 2013 release date to February 7, 2014. There is no word yet on the reason for the move, but it’s possible that the studio wants to spend some time converting the film to 3D, much like what happened with the sequel to G.I. Joe.

The site is also reporting that Neill Blomkamp’s Elysium has been delayed until August 9, 2013 by the studio. The movie was originally set for a March 1, 2013 release date, but now it will be heading towards a late summer month where competition usually isn’t as fierce. We’ll have more on these decisions as information becomes available.
