Fans of the movie Drive who are waiting for Ryan Gosling to slip on the scorpion jacket and reprise the monosyllabic role of the driver should definitely check out what director Nicolas Winding Refn told The Evening Standard (viaThe Burnley Citizen) about the future of the character.
In regards to a direct sequel to the movie, Winding said, "That is never going to happen. But the character of the driver might return in another film. We're playing with that idea. We'll see what happens."
So it appears like a direct sequel to Drive might not happen, but there is still a faint glimmer of hope that Gosling might appear as the driver in another movie. We're not exactly holding our breath over that, though.
