Because life is actually just another 30 Rock episode, there are two Janis Joplin biopics in the works. One, titled Janis, is set to star Nina Arianda, and be directed by Sean Durkin, and the other, Janis Joplin: Get It While You Can, is set to star Amy Adams. According to Vulture, Precious director Lee Daniels is now eyeing the latter project, despite the fact that the former film, Janis, may be the only one with exclusive rights to Joplin's songs.

That's a tough situation, for sure, but may we point out: In 30 Rock, when faced with this same problem for his Jenna Maroney-starring Joplin biopic, "Janet Jorplin," Jack Donaghey made the best of the situation and just wrote his own classic songs. So, you know, they could always just use those.
